I'm considering buying 2 17gb IDE drives & doing a 32gb software RAID 0 with them. This will be lots cheaper than SCSI (which I've been sticking too). Has anybody done this ? (I've read through the docs a bit, no need to feed me URLs) Probably my biggest question is, am I going to have to split this up into multiple partitions ? I had my 9gb drive as 1 partition.. I really prefer to not have to deal with running out of space on one partition when I have lots free on another. Just where is this 2gb problem ? I think fdisk said lilo & DOS fdisk couldn't deal over 2gb.. so I just create a small boot partition, and put everything else on one ? (except swap, of course) Oh, and can I put a swap file on a RAID array ? I haven't been able to find anything on that either way. __________________________________________________________________ PGP fingerprint = 03 5B 9B A0 16 33 91 2F A5 77 BC EE 43 71 98 D4 darxus@op.net / http://www.op.net/~darxus Join the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search http://www.mersenne.org/prime.htm _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
