Job Title: SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER/SR

Position Summary:

Provide on-site UNIX systems administration support to SAS departments.
Perform UNIX systems programming and applications programming projects as
needed. Support relational databases and web servers. Provide backup support
for other SAS UNIX installations.

Duties:

UNIX systems administration, networking, system tailoring, software
installation, backups, coord.  hardware repairs, coord. ordering and
installation of equipment, recommend and track software and hardware,
installation of upgrades, security, assist faculty computer equipment
purchases on grants, technical consulting, and end user support.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: BA/BS required, MS in Computer Science or related field
preferred. Systems Programmer: minimum 2 years UNIX experience in system
administration on multiple platforms -- Systems Programmer Sr: minimum 4 years
UNIX experience in system administration on multiple platforms.  Some
experience with PCs (WIN 95/98/NT/2000) & Macintosh required; in-depth
knowledge of UNIX system administration required; Sun Solaris expertise
required; other platform experience highly desired, e.g.; IBM AIX, Linux, SGI,
IRIX, etc.; programming experience in C, Perl & Bourne Shell required,
programming experience with Java, C++, Tcl/Tk recommended.


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to determine user
needs and consult with users, programmers, hardware experts, and service
personnel.

Salary range: $35,000 to $50,000

This is a full-time position. The salary will depend on the qualifications of
the candidate.

Must be immediately eligible to work in the USA.
