Interesting, thank you Andrew.  From back when I used to RTFMs for fun
(read the Fun manual?), I remember something in one of the pppd
info/man/HOWTOs about applying the daemon to different static devices,
including serial ports and such.  I would be interested to see if this
could work, but I guess I'll have to wait until DSL makes it to
Pottstown...
