No, its not a telnet connection. This is software on another host
trying to get some assurance that you are who you say you are by using the
identd server that you have running on your box. It's most likely
harmless. Lots of times you'll see these connections when you telnet into
another host, log into ftp on another host, connect to an irc server,
etc. You dont need to run identd, but I recommend that you do. Lots of
hosts (especially, but not limited to, irc servers) will not allow you to
connect to them unless they get an ident response from you.
