Well, if we want, we can go crazy and email a million Linux companies and ask for stuff to give away. When I was considering starting a Demo Day and put myself on the LDD mailing list, I got a heap of stuff (now brutally outdated) that was of some interest. That takes about a month or so for any kind of decent response. We could probably get servers loaned (or donated for raffle usage) from VA, Penguin, etc. as well as having our own there for showcasing our own stuff. We should have a system for each major distro, plus systems designed for specific usages (ie. a server-only setup, a workstation, laptop, etc) to cover all the possible uses of Linux. We should put games on them, have StarOffice, apps running under WINE, a variety of window managers, etc. The corporate sponsors of past LDD's included: Caldera EST (BRU guys) LinuxCare Linux Central Linux Mall Red Hat SGI SuSE Turbo Linux TuxTops Applix Corel and that's about all I can remember. We should hit them up for stuff as well as anyplace else that would be willing/have interesting items for donation. Stuff that's raffle-able or give-away-able is of most interest (Applix gave a boxed set, a bunch of CD's of their programming suite, and a modified Tux, all of interest to people who come and show interest in Linux). Anything you need me to do, I'd be glad to do. I haven't been amazingly active in PLUG, but I can be ;-) > -----Original Message----- > From: plug-admin@lists.nothinbut.net > [mailto:plug-admin@lists.nothinbut.net]On Behalf Of Bill Jonas > Sent: Monday, May 29, 2000 4:24 PM > To: plug@lists.nothinbut.net > Subject: Re: [PLUG] Installfest > > > On Mon, 29 May 2000, M.
