[PLUG] Slashdot news and op-ed piece on software licensing

http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=00/06/08/0647212

This might help if you're trying to convince your company to give Free
Software a try, even a limited one. The article talks about
"...Microsoft's changes to its distribution policy for all future
editions of Windows. No longer will you receive a CD which is capable of
installing the operating system with your new computer - Original
Equipment Manufacturers are forbidden to ship you one
(http://www.infoworld.com/articles/op/xml/00/05/01/000501opfoster.xml),
even though you just paid ~$100 for the software, and even though the
change makes customers less than happy
(http://www.infoworld.com/articles/op/xml/00/06/05/000605opfoster.xml)."

Yikes.

BTW, conspiracy theories are in the linked articles, so I won't go into
that here. ;)
