Edit your /etc/lilo.conf, and there should be a line saying timeout= or delay= increase one of these to give you more time. Once you get back in windows, I would just reinstall the partition magic bootmanager. Also, if you do a `man lilo.conf` on the command line it will give you more information about editing the conf file. -- Michelle Weber umweber@mcs.drexel.edu >From: "Lawrence Goodman" <lgoodman@phillymag.com> >To: <plug@lists.nothinbut.net> >Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2000 09:29:23 -0400 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit >X-Priority: 3 (Normal) >X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >Importance: Normal >X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2615.200 >Subject: [PLUG] boot manager >X-Mailman-Version: 1.1 >List-Id: Philadelphia Linux User's Group <plug.lists.nothinbut.net> >X-BeenThere: plug@lists.nothinbut.net > >last night i installed cladera linux on my machine and it overrode my >partition magic bootmanager so now the linux lilo controls which system i >boot into. the lilo gives me about five seconds to make up my mind and then >chooses linux if i dont move fast enough. how do i get my bootmanager from >parttion magic to be the defaul again or at least change lilo so that it >gives me more time (or makes windows the default). > >thanks > >Lawrence Goodman >Philadelphia Magazine >lgoodman@phillymag.com >215 656 3517 > > >______________________________________________________________________ >Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://plug.nothinbut.net >Announcements - http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug-announce >General Discussion - http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug > ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://plug.nothinbut.net Announcements - http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
