Hmm, what gcc are you using?  I believe the default gcc on the system
I'm trying to build it on is 2.95.2 (.deb is 2.95.2-13), and gcc272
(2.7.2.3-15) is also installed.  (Yes, I'm aware of potential issues
with gcc 2.95.x, but I'd heard that most of the stuff was resolved
already.)

Would some output be helpful, or should I just sit tight a while?
