[PLUG] RE: USB ethernet

Bill,

Thanks for the help. At the bottom of this message is a copy of my entire
'dmesg'. I noticed that the pegasus driver is directly compiled into the
kernel and is not a module. I included this when i did 'make xconfig'.
When i run 'ifconfig -a' I only get results for the 'lo' interface. The
devide name should be kept at 'eth0' from what i understand.
When i configure an ethernet device without linuxconf what is involved? How
can i tell linux to use a specific driver? I think the problem is is the
location of the drivers. The driver i need is in the
/usr/src/linux/drivers/usb directory. I think that linux looks in
/usr/src/linux/drivers/net for any drivers related to networking. SO when i
configure the card linux cannot find the pegasus driver in the
/usr/src/linux/drivers/net directory. Remember, i am new to linux so
correct me if i am wrong.
