[PLUG] Gnome Question

I was wondering.  I am using RH6.2 w/ Helix Gnome 1.2, and I would like to 
remove the panel at the bottom for more screen space.  I have already moved 
it to either side with those cute little arrows, but I am asking if anyone 
knows of an option to totally remove it.  Thanks in advance for any help.
