Basically, I wanna put everything in ~/public_html/ in CVS, and give write
access to anybody who wants it, and have it update the website any time
somebody uploads an update... or something like that.

Doing this "auto-update" is trickier, and I don't know the details of how to make this happen. I am sure that it can be made to happen, since there are all sorts of interesting CVS scripts out there - but I've never looked into it personally.
