Re: [PLUG] Kernel patches

Sorry,

I was in the Pocono's and read your mail too quick. I thought it read that you couldn't get the extra stuff working in the delivered mandrake kernel for the 7.2 release

You're right of course. I had to patch my 2.4 for the reiser Fs. My 2.4 Kernerl boots ok my laptop and works great

What kind of problems are you getting?

Yes. But if you download the 2.2.18 code from kernel.org, it doesn't
come with ReiserFS nor Firewire; you have to go get that stuff yourself,
and patch the 2.2.18 source code. Otherwise, you won't be able to access
those ReiserFS partitions. Trust me. :-)

And I was wondering if there was just one place I could go for those
type of kernel-level patches, rather than 2 or more, in order to be able
to support all the same stuff the out-of-the-box kernel does.

Mine, too. Well, I can't get the 2.4 code to boot properly (one of the
reasons I wanted a 2.2.18 kernel), but the 2.2.17 is working OK.
