Same as the reason to meet for beers - associating with folks who have
similar interests to your own. In this case, Linux & target shooting. I
suppose talk Linux in between sessions.
I don't share those interests, but I don't see how 1 message, asking if any
other members are interested in joining an activity with at least one or
more members of the group is all that offensive.
Note that the statement above deals with the off-topic nature of the post -
not on your feelings about guns in general.
