Recently I've been having a rather peculiar problem with my Internet connection. I can connect without any problems, but when I do connect, I can only access IPs that begin with the same three numbers as mine (in other words, 206.20.145.0). I've tried pinging a number of addresses meeting that pattern, with results. Anything else, such as DNS servers, doesn't work. I know the problems not with my net connection because I'm typing this e-mail on the family iMac using the same provider. I guess I'll describe me setup. I have a Debian box running the unstable distro. I have an Ethernet card, and I run an IP masquerade with the Macs downstairs. The home network is, stupidly enough, on 172.0.0.0. I should probably switch it over to one of the encouraged ip numbers, but I haven't gotten around to it. If anything else is needed, let me know. It's not too easy to cat out files right now because, as far as I can tell, Macs can only use one TCP/IP network at once, so I don't have access to my computer from the basement.
