I don't know if it's exactly the same problem you've described, but I had lots of problems getting xfstt to scale TrueType fonts under Redhat 6.2. I installed an alternet TrueType font server, xfsft, and then everything worked fine. I highly recommend xfsft; it makes most windows-designed websites look a lot better. Walt -- Walter C.
