Yeah, Nyet-scape font rendering sucks.

Why not just try a different browser? Mozilla, Opera, Konqueror from KDE
(you can run KDE programs in Gnome, and vice versa).
(Granted, Mozilla is almost as memory intensive as Netscape, but is faster,
and - most of the time - renders pages much better)

I use Konq most of the time now. Works quite well with the majority of
sites. For those that don't work well (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com for
one), I go back to Netscape.

Suffering may build character, but it tends to make you grumpy, in the
process. :-)
