Hard hitting is certainly not the description that I would use...perhaps sucker punch or just plain bitchy. If the author (Dennis Powell) wants to make the point that Eazel would never have gotten and then squandered that $13M if not for the bizarre business practices of the past few years, that's one thing. But offhand slaps at the FSF like "that the Free Software Foundation found insufficiently 'free,' based upon its made-up definition of the word." isn't worthy of anybody's Op-Ed page. If he has an issue with the philosophy behind the FSF, he should say so rather than paint them as wrong-thinking twits. Disagree with them if you like, but don't try to simply discount them because they think about "free" differently and will take a stand on that. This is worthy of a troll somewhere, but an opinion page..no.
