Download a 2.4.x kernel
(ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/linux-2.4.7.tar.gz), and in the
"Sound" section, select "Intel ICH (i8xx) audio support" - I suggest
compiling it as a module.
Works on my i810 here at work.
