check out www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CD-Writing-HOWTO.html for a pretty
thorough tutorial on the whole process including loading certain drives as
ide-scsi.  it looks as though redhat automatically setup your writer with
ide-scsi.  this usually involves adding options to your bootloader
configuration file or loading the appropriate modules.
