Fwiw, I was just in touch with my summer's work place (Wasabi
Systems, http://www.wasabisystems.com/), which is on 14th street
between 6th and 7th avenues. Everyone there is reportadely okay, so
it's not like all of Manhattan is the "war zone" the radio makes it
out to be.

It'd probably be best *not* to clog cell and and copper phone lines
into NYC right now (yes, I emailed), but if you've got family or
friends in Manhattan but not right on top of where the towers used
to be, you can probably rest assured that their safe.

Has anyone heard if it's possible to give blood here to get shipped
to either DC or NYC?
