Another note: a clean install of the debian packages would be advisable. It would be advisable to save the /etc and certain portions of the /var directories. Of cource there is no need to deleate your /home, /usr/local and other directories that are not part of the integral distribution. Cleaning up the /usr directory of anything that is RedHat specific might be beneficial. Also there is a totally different concept of package management between RedHat and Debian. Also I think that there are some tools in each that are not compatable with the other.
