i can't boot from the cdrom, but i can/should be able to install from it.
i'm sending in the same parameters as you, but it dies with the followinf
message:
Kernel PANIC: No init found. Try passing init= option blah blah blah
it looks like suse didn't put an initrd.img file in the loadlin dir in
windows. isn't this needed?

so you can't boot from it or you can't install from it? if the install
starts but then linux yells because it can't find the cdrom, then
install
is still possible. i installed mandrake 8.0 on an vaio sr33 so the
procedure should be the same for yours. you have to append:
ide2=0x180,0x386
to the install initialization parameters to get linux to recognize the
cdrom.
