Hey, doesn't a lay off mean that you might be called back to your job in
the future?

How bad is being laid off in PA? In NJ one can collect unemployment
money for six to twelve months, take free college classes (not including
books), and possibly get a grant for training. My wife got laid off from
a job paying less than 28Gs. She went to school for 10 months while
getting unemployment money, a grant, and a low interest loan. She got a
job one month after leaving school paying 40Gs plus bonus and free or
discounted telecom services. A year later she is (possibly) about to
become the supervisor in her group. None of that would have happened if
she didn't get laid off!
