Properly, ssh-agent doesn't handle passwords at all (and not just
because the term of choice is passphrase in this context). ssh-agent
merely unlocks a private key and then hangs around as a continuing
process listening to a named socket so that shells (and other
processes) made aware of the socket's existence can get access to
the private key by way of it.

And, yes, ssh-agent can keep track of multiple keys simultaneously.
