The latest officially released version (2.2, aka "potato") uses what is now an older 2.2 series kernel; doens't have firewire or USB support as part of the standard install; etc. So it lags well behind the other distros in terms of easily finding and supporting varied amounts of hardware during install. HOWEVER, it's quite easy to upgrade to the latest "beta" version - called "testing" or "woody" - and then you will get support for all those things - later 2.4x kernel, X v4, etc. Quite easily means 2 "apt" commands, BTW. ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
