Hopefully, despite the x in its name, it's doing things in a POSIX-y
way rather than through X calls.

(Unless X/Open actually feels that they shouldn't be tied to *any*
OS, in which case they will have wrapped these functions and you'll
have to do some tracing to find the right place.)
