This has been known for a while. Due to old style cable laws Comcast has a
legal right to access ANYTHING attached to their network. Makes you think
twice about putting your system on their network now dosent it.

I have a friend in chicago with Time Warner digital cable and they forbid him
to run SSH on his system because they could not decrypt it. They also
disallow VPNs... Now this is an extreme case in Milwaukee Wisconsin, but in
the cable land there is not competition, and unlike the telcos the law
spacificly says they have the right to access hardware attached to their
network. Still in DSL land, no matter how eveil verizon is, they cannot
sniff your DSL line for ANYTHING without a warrent.

Personally I am looking at this WDSL that seems to be gaining steam near here.
It is still 200 bucks a month but for 1.4megs both ways... its still cheaper
than a T1.

Cheers
