I was in the same situation, only on the receiving end. Although I was pissed and couldn't believe it, it is totally legal once you sign those papers/manuals. It is all in there, and they threw the signed papers at me when I was in that room. Sadly, they didn't fire me though, but I quit. Now I am the head of the Computer Department here. go figure.
