I know I used to have this working ... I have a scsi CD-RW, which is seen and semi-recognized at boot .. [root@minas-aran log]# cdrecord -scanbus Cdrecord 1.10 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 Jörg Schilling cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver. cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root. [root@minas-aran log]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00 Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-R PX-W124TS Rev: 1.05 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Why does it think it's a CD-ROM, and not a CD-RW?
