The mainboard does not support DMA100 mode. Linux finds the hardware and assigns hdf to the first drive on the controller. I do not have a second board onthere but I assume it would be hdg. I am not sure why this is. The two on board IDE's would be hda - hdd Thanks for the boot CD info. Where do you change the boot level? This thing is booting to state 5 - multi with KDE. I would like to start in state 3 with just text and then move onto init 5.
