What's it do? Fastmalloc? I guess the profiled the heck out of malloc and found some cases where they could optimise a malloc for ia32 linux. I guess it is a step between a hack and genious. I have found it helps things like KHTML and KOffice start up faster because they allocate large chunks of memory for there DOMs internally. It is one of those things that you use to get the last drops of speed out of glibc. - -ian reinhart geiser -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8tyPqPy62TRm8dvgRAlxKAKDY1d1UWg6p/wmLXDpKTQHJ0D3ykgCg4OE1 Ds4L6uWZz3tVLitmOz4/YQM= =wZ46 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
