Right. POP can keep messages on the server after they are downloaded and delete messages on the server when they are deleted locally. The problem is that when you access the same mailbox from another client the non-deleted mail will have to be downloaded again. Deleteing a message in client one will not remove it from client two. What you end up with is two out of sync clients. With IMAP that can be avoided. So, for people who access a single mailbox from multiple clients, IMAP beats POP. ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
