Not with WinXP - you need an activation code from MS, and the activation code is tied to a specific instance of the OS and the hardware it was installed on at time of activation. (Purchasing pre-installed XP is different, since it is already activated at the factory, and is tied to the BIOS). So, while a copy of XP from your friend would install, it wouldn't activate. Which means that it only works for ... 50 sessions, I think it is. And then, on boot #51, it goes into "limited function" mode. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (MingW32) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAjzHCfAACgkQmrQe9lqlvN8XTQCgicdpjZ64Ww/RXU8kc1tWJ3aP rCoAnRv1x+AZYYIi4HApKtR5ybR3fgix =RXSq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
