I would contact the KMail developers, as some are currently being payed by the 
German government to make KMail secure enough for their internal and military 
use.  If you have a feature request then you should ask them. 

FYI The CVS version has support for signed certificates and x509(?) support.  
But it is really wonky now, because for some reason Gabes gpg sigs dont show 
up as valid but Mike's does. (Mike what mailer are you using again?)
