What is the NEW comcast??  Did I miss something here?

For the "old" Comcast, something like "dhcpcd -h cc######-a" would
work.  IIRC from Windows, that string would be entered in the system
network config as the computer name.  So I'd assume Windows sends the
computer name for that tag.  What are your new Comcast instructions
telling you to put for your computer name?  That's what you'll probably
need to put in the -h argument of dhcpcd.
