I have moved an office Linux machine home and want to connect it to Comcast. What I have: The machine currently connected is a win95 with a seriously ill D: partition. It has an external Comcast modem connected to its NIC via coax. The Linux machine I want to connect currently uses an external regular modem and PPP. It has a 3com NIC with just an RJ-45 plug. It is running Red Hat 6.2. There is also another windows machine I wouldn't mind connecting. I have a network hub with 8 RJ-45s and one coax i/o. You can probably tell from this message that I am not very network savvy. Most of what I know comes from what I have learned fixing problems, ergo, I don't know much about that has, until now, worked fine -- i.e. Comcast on Windows and my little peer to peer network. I will appreciate all help that is offered. ____________________________________. artAlexion ------------- arthur@alexion.com www.alexion.com ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
