| ATM means "asynchronous transfer mode". I don't know a whole lot about | the technology except that it's often seen in High-end networking kit | and never in consumer-level stuff. it is not often *seen* in consumer-level stuff, but it is there lurking behind the scenes. nearly all DSL being deployed is ATM underneath. generally consumer-grade DSL is (ppp over) ethernet over ATM over DSL and business-grade DSL is just ATM over DSL. --jeff ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
