-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings Okay first off what I am doing is not 100% legal but since the MPAA has seen it fit not to master one of my all time favorite movie on DVD I am taking it on myself to at least make it in VCD format. I got to the first part and had a freind rip my VHS format tape into a nice 700+MB avi for me. My problems: a) Him being a media guy and not a linux guy made me a divx AVI thankfully he knew I was not in MacOS so he did not use Quicktime 5 to compress it. Is there a way to convert a divx video to a normal mpeg or avi. I have found tons of converters to go from VCD to mpeg. b) What are good tools for mastering a VCD under linux? I have looked at QVCD Gear but that seem more for mpegs. Are there any opensource ones or even closed source ones for less than $100? Thanks in advance for helping me in my petty crimes ;) - -ian reinhart geiser -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9BACdPy62TRm8dvgRAgyYAKC7+HcUdXrS5hVTltZE6NPUQChjqgCffzzh ooXHbCoO9AqF6t6/zMTRqcg= =1Vls -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
