Hm, I don't think I've ever touched grub.conf. Is it is /etc or /boot/grub? Did the timeout take effect when you rebooted? This sounds like it could perhaps be a Red Hat-ism - though under 7.3 I've still only had to edit menu.lst. pls -------------------------- Paul L.
