I've got a StarTac 7868 phone with Verizon service. It's got free dialup
through the phone -- free, as in I don't have to pay extra, but I do have to
pay for minutes. That said, it's pretty cool -- I've been successful in
getting it to work with my Palm IIIxe to create kind of poor man's palm VII.

It works just like any other modem -- hooks in through the serial port,
connects at 14.4. If I remember right, I was able to convince Verizon to
sell me one for about $80 when I threatened to cancel service once...

I think the cable/connection kit will set you about $60...
