Re: [PLUG] Stupid question about Mandrake

I think Mandrake is still similar to Red Hat, so look at...

/etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0

Hi,

I installed mandrake on a new PC, and the networking isn't quite right:
(v8.2 I think)

apple$ ping 192.168.1.1
pinging 192.168.1.1...

(nothing comes back)

sparcy$ ping 192.168.1.35
pinging 192.168.1.35

etc.

(.1 is a server, sparcy .35 is the new PC, apple).

Any ideas?

Maybe it's firewall ont he new PC or something?

Also, I am used to debian so I tried to find /etc/network/interfaces,
but to no avail... how do you change the network settings in mandrake
(other then temp. by ifconfig).
