When I'm home, I could post the specific errors, but DHCP tries polling for a configuration, but doesn't get a response. When I set as static, I time out attempting to get to the debian servers. If I look at ifconfig eth0, the settings look exactly as my other desktops, same thing with route. The statistics show only errors though, all other packets are 0. > 2) Test outbound connectivity, PING www.yahoo.com > If it works, you have verified DNS name resolution, and connectivity. > IF NOT, then the network card may not be compatible. PING www.billjonas.com has been attempted, and get could not resolve name so I try to ping the ip address of the gateway and get no response. since the install disks for woody don't include a browser, I use wget to my gateway's webserver and get a nice seg fault, so that was no help either...
