Uhhh... not without DOS, you won't.

(Or does Linux's fdisk support that these days?)

Anyway, if you take that advice, make sure you also subsequently
re-run lilo, since fdisk /mbr will blow your existing MBR away
entirely.

I really think this is an incorrect disk geometry problem, though;
clearing the MBR entirely might blow away data on the disk that you
don't want to lose.
