I have used and continue to use Orinoco/wavelan cards from Lucent/Agere. However, I have only really used linux in a P-2-P (ad-hoc) network setup, or, connecting to a residential gateway. I can say with certainty that it will work under linux kernels 2.2.12 through 2.2.16. However, I am using the ISA adaptor that basically adds a PCMCIA slot to a desktop. I do know of a PCI version of this card, and, my parents use it in newer desktops. =brad --- Everybody loves to love you when you're far away -- Better than Ezra, At the Stars -----Original Message----- From: plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org [mailto:plug-admin@lists.phillylinux.org]On Behalf Of Kam Salisbury Sent: Friday, 30 August 2002 2:24 PM To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org Subject: [PLUG] WLAN Recommendation Please Has anyone used Linux as the router (access point) for a wireless LAN install? If so, what card(s) did you use? I would prefer to use a PCI mounted card and then mount the antenna externally using an extension cable.
