[PLUG] gnome or gtk+ compile?

A while back I followed a thread concerning the running of gnome apps
in kde and vice versa. apparently some gnome apps will load (a
substantial part of) gnome if run under kde, while some will just use
the gtk+ libraries.

I have gnome, but generally work in kde. Some apps (e.g. I am now
compiling Abiword) let you compile them for gnome or just for gtk+.
Which is better in my situation?
