Re: [PLUG] OT: Linux Business Forum

My uncle is a IT manager for a major pharmaceutical company Covance in King
of Prussia. I've been trying to turn him onto Linux for years now without
any success. If a company has a million dollars to spend on software the
users of the software aren't going to speak up to management and say hey we
can get Linux which is more stable and cheaper to operate. The only way open
source is going to pass companies like Moneysoft and Oracle is for Linux
user to work our way into management positions.

I use Windows at work only cause Autodesk wont release software on Linux.
Big companies don't want to spend the extra money to support different OS's.
A program like Autocad 2002 which is 12+ years in the making, would make a
Open source type cad system very hard to move to.
