Let me explain it in case you got the attributions mixed up:
I (Jeff) wrote the comment, referring to myself.  While it's very kind of 
you to defend me from myself by calling one (or both?) of me a jackass, 
it's really not necessary.

Unfortunately it's something that's become way too common in electronic 
communications.  I don't know you but I'd guess that you don't generally go 
around talking to people like this in-person.

Let's try to keep our sandbox free of this.
