The thing it doesn't do is let you specify multiple wildcards when you have an asterisk. I.E., you can say w*.txt, but w*c*.txt and w*a?d.txt are taken to be equivalent to w*.txt. (Something like w?ldc?rd.txt is interpreted in the way you'd expect.) Of course, I could be wrong on that. ObLinux: Humorix reports that RedHat has taken steps to "unify" the CLI experience in RH Linux 8.0 by combining features of bash and csh, in addition to the work they've already done on GNOME and KDE. Also, they are unifying the text-editing experience; 8.0 apparently ships with "vimacs" and "emavics".
