[PLUG] graphical log in

I boot my system iin run level 5 so that my family gets a graphical log
in screen. When I set up the system, it used kdm for this login. I
installed evolution with Ximian's Red Carpet (big mistake in my view)
and it changed many things seemingly unrelated to its primary function
as an MUA, including the login program. It is now using gdm, xdm, or
some Ximian thing (I can't tell which). I want to change it back and I
don't care if the change breaks Evolution. More things about my system

Red Hat 7.2
KDE 2.2.x (default)
Gnome 1.2

I'm thinking the answer is in /etc/inittab, but I'm not sure how to
correctly configure it.
