I'm planning to move to the Philadelphia area, from England, for personal reasons (to live with my fiancee). In looking for a software job over here, I'm emailing companies' personnel departments directly, of course, but I'd like to try using a recruitment consultant too: does anyone have any recommendations, for which to use or which to avoid? (If there are any who are especially good at *nix and OSS things, I'd especially like to hear. But right at the moment, a software job is a software job.) To channel discussion a bit: I know this isn't the best time ever to look for jobs-- and I know there's all the fun of sorting out work permits and visas and things to come-- but, well, needs must.
